Pine Terrace Resort sits directly on Star Lake. We sit on a connected five-lake system that offers variety, flexibility, and depth—both literally and figuratively—making it one of the most unique fishing experiences in the region.
Each lake fishes differently. Each rewards a different approach. And together, they create an experience that keeps anglers—families included—coming back year after year.
Water clarity is high, and bottom composition varies throughout the lake. Near inlets, anglers will find rocky structure and firm bottoms. Elsewhere, weed-lined shelves transition sharply into deeper, softer basins. These changes in depth and structure are exactly what predator fish look for.
Star Lake supports a diverse and healthy population of: Northern pike, Largemouth bass, Smallmouth bass, Rock bass, Crappie, Sunfish, and Perch.
Strong panfish numbers fuel predator growth, which is one reason this lake has legitimate trophy potential while still offering consistent action.
Fishing is productive throughout the day, but low-light periods—early mornings, evenings, and overcast conditions—often produce the strongest shoreline and structure bites. Deep basins provide thermal refuge during warm periods, while mid-lake humps act as staging areas when conditions stabilize.
Boat access is available directly from Pine Terrace Resort, and dock fishing is surprisingly productive for both panfish and bass—making it easy for families and kids to get in on the action.
Little Star Lake offers a more intimate fishing experience. Smaller in size with clearly defined shorelines, it rewards anglers who slow down and fish methodically.
Live bait rigs, spinners, and soft plastics all perform well. Little Star is an excellent choice for anglers who enjoy quieter water and a more relaxed pace—without sacrificing quality fishing.
Little Round Lake is compact, efficient, and extremely approachable. Because of its manageable size, anglers can cover water effectively without feeling overwhelmed, making it a great option for:
Spinners, diving crankbaits, plastics, and live sucker rigs all produce for bass and pike here.
Important note: Do not enter Little Bass Lake, which is located beyond Little Round Lake. Little Bass contains invasive species that we work hard to keep out of the Star Lake system. Protecting this fishery is a shared responsibility, and we appreciate guests respecting this boundary.
Little Beaver Lake fishes differently than the rest of the chain. Rather than focusing on specific spots, anglers can work the lake in a circular, methodical pattern, covering shoreline and adjacent deeper water efficiently.
For panfish anglers, slip bobbers with live minnows and small jigs tipped with plastics consistently produce eater-size crappies and bluegill. It’s a reliable lake when you want action and variety.
Henry Lake offers something truly special: a quiet, hike-in fishing experience that feels untouched and peaceful.
Access requires guests reserving a rowboat on the signup sheet located above the bait area next to the playground at Pine Terrace Resort. From Star Lake, guests tie up at the marked location (identified by a pink flag), then follow the trail to Henry Lake. While the hike is short, it does include steep sections—making the reward at the end even sweeter.
Fishing on Henry Lake is catch-and-release only, helping preserve its quality and solitude.
Large northern pike patrol reed edges and shorelines and respond well to diving crankbaits, spoons, and spinnerbaits. Largemouth bass are also present and can be caught on slowly worked plastics along weed edges or on topwater baits like poppers and buzzbaits during calm conditions.
For anglers seeking quiet water, minimal pressure, and a true Northwoods feel, Henry Lake is unforgettable.
