As we wrap up another season at Pine Terrace Resort, our hearts are full. We feel incredibly fortunate to call this beautiful place home, but what makes Pine Terrace so special isn't just Star Lake, the Northwoods, or everything there is to do here. It's the families who come back year after year, the memories made along the way, and the friendships that have become such a big part of our lives.
From our family to yours, thank you for choosing Pine Terrace Resort as your vacation spot. We know how much it means to have this time together, and we don't take it for granted that you choose to spend it here.
The Little Moments That Make It All Worthwhile
Every week, we were so excited to welcome families to the resort, and when the end of the week came, we were always a little sad to see them go. But then, before long, familiar faces would pull back into the driveway, and we'd get to do it all over again.
Some of our favorite moments this season were the little ones. We loved watching kids tumble out of the car, practically bursting with excitement to be back at Pine Terrace. One family even created a countdown tradition leading up to their vacation, with a chain link to tear off each week until the big day. Getting to watch them arrive and excitedly rip off that final link was just the sweetest thing.
We loved seeing kids race down to the beach, reunite with cousins, and pick right back up with their Pine Terrace friends. We watched them run around during the scavenger hunt, search for hidden bobbers along the Bobber Trail, and spend hours bouncing on the water trampoline. We saw parents teaching their kids to fish, families gathering at the playground, and cousins making the kind of memories they'll talk about for years.
And then there are the stories that continue long after everyone heads home. We've received emails like one from a mom telling us their little one was already asking how many more big sleeps until they get to come back to Pine Terrace.
Those are the moments that really get us.
It's hard to put into words what it means to know that this place has become part of your family's traditions, your children's childhood memories, and the stories you'll tell for years to come. We feel so incredibly grateful to be part of it.
A Place Worth Taking Care Of
One of the things we've come to appreciate most is the kind of families who find their way to Pine Terrace. You work hard, value time with the people you love, appreciate the beauty of the wild Northwoods, and come here to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy being together.
We love that.
And we feel a real responsibility to make sure Pine Terrace is the kind of place you want to return to. We want your cabin to feel welcoming, the grounds to be cared for, the amenities to bring your family together, and the atmosphere to give you room to relax and enjoy the simple things.
We know that a family vacation is about so much more than where you sleep. It's about having a place where the kids can run free, where grandparents can watch another generation enjoy the lake, where old traditions continue and new ones begin. It's about having the space to unwind and the freedom to spend your days however you like.
You deserve a vacation that feels special, and we want Pine Terrace to be that place for you.
That's why we take so much pride in caring for the cabins, improving the grounds, and thoughtfully investing in the things that make a difference to your stay.
Looking Ahead: More Memories to Come!
One of the biggest highlights of the 2026 season was the addition of our Looney Links Mini Golf Course! We loved seeing families enjoy it, and we've been so happy to hear your feedback about the mini golf course and the other improvements we've been making around the resort.
We're going to keep that momentum going into 2027, with intentional, guest-focused improvements that make your time here even more enjoyable.
And we have a fun addition coming to the water! We're adding a 20-foot Weeres pontoon to our fleet for 2027. She's a beaut, and we can't wait for you to get out on Star Lake and enjoy a day on the water with your family and friends.
We Want to Hear Your Pine Terrace Story!
Something we've realized this season is just how many wonderful stories live within these 13 cabins. Some of you have been coming to Pine Terrace for generations. Others are starting new traditions with little ones who are experiencing the lake, the beach, and the Northwoods for the very first time and we even had a couple come for the first time who eloped on the dock of cabin 9 - WOW!
We love hearing about it all: the memories you've made, the traditions you've carried on, the funny things your kids said, the fish that got away, and the moments that made your vacation special.
We'd love to share more of these stories and celebrate the families who make Pine Terrace what it is. If you have a Pine Terrace memory, a family tradition, or a story about what this place means to you, we would love for you to share it with us (click here) or send us an email at getaway@pineterrace.com. We'd be so happy to hear from you, and with your permission, we may even share your story with our Pine Terrace community.
Until Next Summer… and Maybe Even Sooner!
As we settle into the quieter season here in the Northwoods, we'll be busy caring for the resort, making plans for thoughtful improvements, and looking forward to the day those familiar cars start pulling back into the driveway. But summer isn't the only time to enjoy a little Pine Terrace magic!
We're excited to share that Cabins 11, 12, and 13 will be open this winter! If you've been dreaming of a Northwoods winter getaway, we'd love to welcome you back for a different kind of adventure. Think snowmobiling, ice fishing, darkhouse spearfishing, ice skating, cozy evenings by the fire, and making memories with your favorite people in a beautiful winter setting.
And there's plenty happening around Crosslake, too! One of our favorite local traditions is WinterFest February 4-6th 2027, which includes SoupFest (on February 6th 2027). Spend the weekend sampling soups from local businesses, hunting for the Lost Medallion, enjoying family activities, sledding, warming up around bonfires, and exploring all the fun our little Northwoods community has to offer. There are plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy winter in Crosslake at Pine Terrace. You can find a calendar of events on Crosslake.com.
From our family to yours, thank you for a wonderful 2026 season. Whether we see you this winter or next summer, we can't wait to welcome you back!
